Dionys' First Game

Dionys is playing his first game right now. So far he's 2-3 with 1 RBI. You can listen to his games on the internet. The link for the radio station is on the team's home page under "Sites I Visit". His games are at night on the east coast. I think they start around 5:00 AZ time. So check that out. And since he's playing in the states and not in Mexico you can even listen in English! Dionys left yesterday. That was tough on the kids. Alexandria cried. DJ wanted his shoes on so he could go on the plane too. AJ just wanted out of his car seat and Isabel got nervous when she saw the other three kids crying. The boys kept asking for him all day and everytime they saw a silver car they checked to see if it was Papi. I still don't think that the boys understand. I just tell them that Papi went to go play baseball. It's amazing what a difference it makes when he's not around. Our house was so quiet yesterday and I didn't have to make a great lunch or dinner. We had chicken quesadillas for dinner and I don't even remember if we had lunch. We are going to try to go out to Long Island sometime before the season is over in September. That will be an adventure with the four kids but we're up for it.

Dionys is Leaving

So, we just found out that Dionys will be leaving on Thursday. :( We've finally got used to having him around and now we'll have to get used to having him gone again. He's going to go play in an independent league. The team is called the Long Island Ducks. Check out the website under the "Sites I Visit". It's been fun to have him home. The kids have loved it. Especially because when he's home, he's home. He doesn't have to leave to go to work so the kids get him whenever they need him. He's thinking that he'll finish the season there so that it will be easier to get a job during winter ball. Since he came home from Mexico injured he wants the teams to see that he's better. So hopefully, everything will work out good.

My Murals

So here's what I like to do in my spare time. Good thing I don't have very much of it or our whole house might be painted in kids themes. This is a picture of the kid's bathroom that I just finished. You can kind of see in the picture, because of the mirror, how it goes all around the bathroom. It was so much fun to do. It only took a day and Dionys watched the kids for most of the day. We put hooks on the octopus arms and he holds all the towels. You can see him actually holding the towels in the mirror.

This is the boys room. Baseball everything! I even found a chest of drawers at Goodwill and painted it the same as the walls.

These pictures are of Isabel's room. Her room took about four hours. You can't tell from the picture but it goes all the way around the room with big flowers and butterflies. I just have fun seeing what happens when I start to make the finishing touches like th expressions on the faces of the fish in the bathroom. It's like they come to life. Plus it makes it even more worth it when the kids walk in and begin to play with the characters on the wall.

We just got Alexandria a new loft bed. It's a big hit with the kids. They love it. They spend most of the day on her bed playing. Now her room just needs some help. We're trying to figure out what kind of stuff we should paint on her walls. She's got all sorts of ideas. Castles, princesses, rainbows, unicorns, the list goes on and on. But I'm not that good. I'm waiting to come up with something simple.

My baby's growing up!

I know I have four but Alexandria has always been "baby".

I guess I'll have to rethink that. She's getting big. She lost her first baby tooth and since this picture was taken she lost her second tooth too. It's fun to see her smile. Her permanent tooth is coming in and she looks so old with her new grin. Plus, she's starting Kindergarten this year. I think I'll have more separation anxiety than she will. I'm glad she's so excited.

Hats, Hats, Hats

They love their hats. Eversince they started watching Everyone's Hero all the time they've been wearing their hats constantly. For those who don't know Everyone's Hero, it's a little kids movie about a little boy and baseball. It was directed by Christopher Reeves, Superman. It's cute and they love it. Luckily, they don't wear them to church but, they put them on as soon as we get home.
The boys are fun. Always something going on. They are either playing baseball or getting into something. Everything becomes either a bat or a ball in our house. The remote control is a bat. Alexandria's lip gloss is a ball. A spoon? No a bat. Grapes? No, balls. They have their real bats and balls but Mom likes to keep those outside. And even in the hot 100 degree weather our boys will go outside and play ball. Papi couldn't be more proud.
Then there's the messes. The other day Dionys went to go pour himself a bowl of cereal. He picked up the box and it was heavy. DJ had poured the gallon of milk into the cereal box and was eating it out of the box. We found the spoon in the box too. It's always fun with them around.

Carrots Anyone?

This is what happens when I go to get the twins and Alexandria in the bathtub and DJ slips Isabel some baby food carrots before we go. No wonder she was being so good in her high chair.

I did it!!

It seems like this is the best way to keep in touch with everyone and I finally figured it out. Yea! I'm so proud of myself. Now hopefully, I'll be able to be as good at keeping it updated as everyone else.
