DJ's lost his Papi

After seeing a magazine with three Diamondback baseball players DJ got a little sad. I asked him if he misses Papi. As he shook his head up and down he said, "I just keep losing my Papi and losing my Papi."

Believe

Since we were in Tijuana over the weekend and Papi had Monday off we decided to take a quick trip to Sea World and see Shamu and other sea animals.

We liked the tunnel to see the sharks.

Playing with the starfish was fun too.

And of course acting like penguins was a big hit.

But the best part was after the park had already closed and we made a little side trip to go say bye to Shamu and the other killer whales before we left. Here's your usual picture that you get in front of the killer whale aquarium. The kids are all smiling and the whales are doing there own thing in the background. But, please stick with me because I'm not a very good story teller and I have a very slow camera so I got some pictures of Isabel because she would stay in one place but the other kids moved all over and a lot of time was lost waiting for the camera to take another picture but this experience was awesome. And the pictures that I did get are amazing. When we first got to the killer whale pool there was another group of people looking at the killer whales too. One of the guys started pounding on the glass to get the killer whales' attention and it was working. They kept swimming right at him and then would turn just short of the glass. Then one of the whales got mad and actually hit the glass right where the man was standing then came back around and snapped at him showing off his huge mouth of killer whale teeth. The guy kind of backed off and then someone said that the pounding probably hurts their ears and that the whale was probably trying to get the guy to stop hitting the glass. The guy felt bad and walked back up to the glass and just put his hands on the glass, trying to say sorry and the SAME whale that had just done the "swim by" came back and stayed in front of this guy just looking at him and moving his head up and down. The whale stayed there for awhile. It was like the whale was trying to say I'm sorry I scared you but thank you for understanding and not pounding the glass anymore. It was amazing how interactive this killer whale was. I have never seen any animals in a zoo or any other place be so interactive with the people looking at them.

There were three whales in the pool and after the other group left all the killer whales started to really interact with the kids. There was a baby one that came up and stayed right by Isabel. It would sit there and blow bubbles and when Isabel touched the glass it would move to where she was touching then go do some flips in the water and come back as if to ask her if she liked the flips and to play some more. It was the baby playing with the baby. So SWEET! Some of the other whales played with Alexandria and the boys, literally coming right up to wherever there hands were on the glass and stopping to touch their hands and look them in the eyes. It was so amazing I didn't want to leave. I think we were down there for about 10 - 20 minutes. But unfortunately one of the employees finally found us and told us they were closed. It was awesome. These animals really played with my kids. There was no aggression just pure fun. They would go out do flips in the water and then come back to make sure the kids were still watching and touch their hands and faces through the glass. It made us see that anything can happen. It was awesome and so just like the name of the Shamu show . . . I now BELIEVE!

It's Papi Time!!!

We just got back from a fun trip to go see Papi in Tijuana. His team had a 3 game series there so we saw a few games and the kids played on the field after the games with Papi and loved it! I'll just let the pictures speak for me.
They love playing with Papi. They even got to ride back to the hotel with him on the team bus with all the players. You can tell they all had a great time.

Fun with the Cousins

In case you are wondering why the Snell Family hasn't blogged in a while, they've been here with us and we love having them around. Alexandria is always so excited to play with Brooklyn and she has decided that she wants Cade for a brother. Friday we went to the Arizona Museum for Youth with Grandma.

Learning all about how they eat in Japan with Grandma. (Since she's been there, we consider her the expert.)
Beginning her first art masterpiece.

Taking turns driving the Van.

As you can see the kids had a great time. We'll be sad to see the cousins leave. Thank goodness they'll be moving here soon.

Uh-oohhh

BAM!!!! "Uh-oooohhhh." That's what I heard and this is what I saw but DJ was holding the piece of the door that broke off. This is our TV cabinet. I was pretty upset. Good thing we're not planning on keeping this TV in here very much longer and real good thing that I bought the cabinet at IKEA on sale for a GREAT deal. It could have gotten ugly. DJ felt bad enough as it was. I did manage to put it back together with some wood glue. You can kind of see the crack in the front but at least it looks better than just one door. I guess this is EXACTLY why we haven't jumped into remodeling yet. We're just kind of waiting for these boys to grow up a little bit more so that they stop destroying everything.

Isabel's Rocking Out

Since I haven't posted in awhile here's a couple of video clips of Isabel. Don't you just want to laugh along with her then grab her and give her a huge hug?

Alexandria's Tribute to Gordon B. Hinckley

As always, we enjoyed Conference. But Alexandria had a rough time adjusting to Conference without President Hinckley. She even protested for a little while. She didn't want to watch she only wanted to hide in my room. While she was in there she wrote a little book. It must have helped her because after she wrote it she came out of hiding and sat down with us to watch the rest of Conference.

President Hinckley's Book of How Nice He Was
I'm sure a lot of people liked President Hinckley
Hinckley was a nice guy.
But he died.
We will miss President Hinckley.
(She drew herself crying.)

Cupcakes Anyone?

They look delicious don't they? Look at the frosting. They're very pretty colors. Alexandria was so excited when I told her we were having cupcakes for lunch. YUM! So I got her a pretty pink one and set it on her plate. She used her finger and took a big swipe of frosting. (She takes after her mom. We LOVE the frosting.) She began to eat the beautiful pink frosting and then in a dissatisfied tone asked, "Mom, why did you put potatoes on the cupcakes?"

To which I replied, "April Fools!!!!!" Come on would I really give my kids cupcakes for lunch? Okay, maybe but only when Papi's not home. ;)

Luckily, she thought it was pretty funny. The cupcakes were made of meatloaf with mashed potato frosting. The boys liked them too but they didn't get the whole April Fools thing and Isabel . . .well, she was just glad to be eating as always.
