Chop it off

 

This may have been one of the scariest things I have ever done, scarier than a C-section, scarier than getting married, scarier than flying across the pacific ocean with 4 kids under the age of 6 but it had to be done. My hair has been through a lot with two pregnancies in one year.  2012, finally caught up to me.  So I took a deep breath and chopped it off.

 

And you know what I decided? I like it! Why did I not do this earlier? Short hair is sassy! I can do sassy, right?

Mommy daughter night

As I was taking pictures off of my phone I realized I hadn't posted some of our fun times lately.  Papi took the boys for Father Sons Campout. The boys were super excited.  It was the first time he had been here to take them.  So while the cats are away the mice will play, except we aren't mice and the boys definitely aren't cats.  But we did all the girly stuff.

Taking One for the Kids

I absolutely love being a mom to my children.

Today is my birthday.

My four little kiddos all woke up early and kept my door shut so I wouldn't hear them in the kitchen.

They were cooking up a big surprise.  

All by themselves they made me breakfast in bed for my birthday.

And they spoiled me with presents that grandma had helped them pick out.

How could I not love them for that?

Then the boys tried to convince me that they should stay home with me for my birthday and not go to school.

We had to compromise on that one.  So I took lunch to them instead.

Getting one year older is not fun.

But watching how excited my kids are for me makes it all worth it.

I dug a trench with that dangerous looking thing for the hose,

hammered in a misting system for the chicken coop,

and changed the brake light on my car.

Not the normal motherly day but who said I always have to play the mom?

Memory Monday

It's just me and my boys but they were so much fun. Alexandria was the photographer for this picture. They were just over a year old and so cute!

1985

I swore I never would again but today I gave in. Actually, my downfall began almost 2 months ago. They were there in the store calling my name and it seemed like such a good deal. Besides everywhere I looked everyone else was doing it. And it seemed like they were all enjoying them. I felt so out of place, so old. So why shouldn't I give in? Try it out. I mean is it really going to hurt me? So I succumbed and bought them but then hid them away in the closet when I got home hoping that maybe they would just go away and I would never have to deal with them. Then today came. I was in the mood for something crazy, something different from the norm and that's when it happened. I decided today would be the day when I would travel back to 1980 something. I searched through my closet to find the stashed away bag, found it and pulled out . . .

. . .the skinny jeans.

It wasn't too bad. I'm not ready for these to be an everyday thing but the change was just what I needed.

I'm gonna party like it's my birthday . . .

It was my birthday today. I turned 29 for the 4th time and I had a fabulous day thanks mostly to my mom and my kids. We started out the day with a trip to the gym for ZUMBA. It's a mix of latin dancing and international music, very fun. The kiddos were awesome all day. I loved being able to tell them, "It's my birthday. Be nice!" And they would nice right up. Wish I had that excuse every day. Alexandria was a little sad she didn't have anything to give me so we went to get her new books for piano lessons that she'll be starting and she picked out a piano book for me, High School Musical 2, . . . my favorite. Plus she colored a beautiful book and made me a crown for my birthday.

My mom went with me to pick out my birthday present from Papi. I figured I was doing him a favor. You know guys stress about what to get their wives for their birthday so I told him not to worry, I knew exactly what I wanted and I would even go get it. Aren't I such a good wife? ;) So thanks Papi for the new camera. See what good pictures it takes.Our old camera was in pretty bad shape, seriously, it had fallen a few too many times and the pictures were slightly green and blurry. So now I don't have any excuse for my lack of photography talent and hopefully the pictures on our blog will look better. Mom and Dad gave me this beautiful picture that I have always loved. It's huge! Mom said it will go good in our newly remodeled family room when we're done. (Haven't started it yet but it should be happening soon, I hope.) Thanks Mom! ;)

Mom and Janalyn planned a fun party with the whole family that's here in AZ. See my beautiful cake. DJ picked blue balloons and the pink flowers were for Alexandria. My mom tried to pile on as much frosting as possible because that's my favorite part. YUM!And Adam and Whitney both called. I have to say it was such a fun day that if it wasn't for turning older every time I had a birthday I would have a birthday more than just once a year. I think I'm going to go have another piece of my cake. I'm feeling a frosting craving coming on. :)Thanks everyone for the fun birthday!

I'm not Victoria!

So I've been asked for my autograph a couple of times while we've been here. The first time I really laughed and asked the guy if he was really serious. I hope I didn't make him feel stupid. But, he said yes I have your husband's and I want yours too. Then he passed me his baseball hat to sign. Later, after the game I told Dionys and he said, "well they probably ask Victoria Beckham for her's too". Maybe, but we're not the Beckhams. Although it is a very strange feeling when we go out to eat and everyone is watching us because we're the Dionys Cesar family. It's so hard to look cool when you're shuffling four kids around.

Baby Shower

We are going to have a very exciting time around Christmas. Both Clint's and Adam's wives are pregnant. Fabiane and Adam are having a boy and Clint and Katie are having a girl. What lucky grandmas! If they see something cute for a girl they can get it or for a boy they can get that too. Since Fabiane and Adam were here for such a short time we put together a little baby shower with the moms in the family for Katie and Fabi. We went to eat at Wildflower Bakery. We talked and ate and it wouldn't be a baby shower without presents. I thought it was really fun. In fact I think we should do it whenever anyone in the family is expecting. I'm so excited for Fabiane and Katie. Congratulations girls! I hope you had a good time too.
